Not display platforms the podcast isn’t listed in
Devon
I would like the feature for checking if the podcast is not on a platform and not displaying said platform if it isn’t, like on the PodNews website. I don’t list my podcasts in Spotify, but because Spotify still shows up, it might confuse listeners because the link I shared with them has Spotify, but the podcast isn’t in it.

Unfortunately, EpisodesFM has made some architectural choices that prevent us from hiding platforms. We recommend adding OP3 analytics (https://op3.dev/) to your show. This lets us sort the apps based on their popularity with your existing audience, which should push platforms where your show isn’t available further down the list.

Nathan Gathright Thank you for your fast reply. I have been using the OP3 prefix for over a month now, but the app order on my episodes.fm page does not reflect the data. For instance, the most used apps for my podcasts, such as Apple Podcasts and Overcast, show up in around the middle, and Spotify, from which I removed one of my podcasts long before OP3’s current three-month period and the other before I started using OP3 for it, is almost at the top.

Devon The sorting is influenced by a combination of factors, including the visitor’s user-agent, which prioritizes platforms popular on that operating system. Viewing your show from an Android phone, I first see every supported Android app where you have downloads, followed by other apps sorted by their global popularity on Android.

Nathan Gathright Okay. But I am looking on an iPad and I have no OP3 Spotify downloads from the current period for one podcast and no OP3 Spotify downloads at all for my other podcast, but Spotify is still high and Apple Podcasts and Overcast (my most popular apps) are still median.

Devon According to OP3’s API, Spotify represents 25.6% of downloads for iPad-like user agents, and Apple Podcasts represent only 0.02%, which would explain what you’re seeing. I need to check with John Spurlock about these numbers and see what’s up.
